Corner Piece

As humans we are fixers,
problem solvers and re-mixers,

We're all about the problem,
Spending years in pain to solve them.

But the missing piece is seldom ever,
the neon sign out front.
But rather in the whisper,
not the loudest cry or grunt.

So those without this neon sign,
On faith they seem to all rely,

For someone, surely one of them,
Will look beneath the picture,
And see the blaring, gaping hole,
And put the pieces back together.

But waiting for this seeker,
Makes the strongest ones feel weaker,

Watching puzzled people run from start,
to finish, receiving their all new heart.

When all along, all I need,
is a single shift, one single piece.

But I am a picture, nearly complete,
and the back burner, I often meet,

For as humans, we are fixers,
Problem solvers, and re-mixers...

And I am not a crease to be ironed out,
Merely a girl... with a piece left out.
